dau & quat dong

bicycle tour

Hanoi Cycling Trip Dau Pagoda Quat Dong Village 1 Day is a supported bike tour starting from Hanoi city center, taking you to Quat Dong embroidery village in the suburb of Hanoi. Enjoy riding through rural hamlets, mostly on the back roads to see many countryside villages of the Red River delta.

Itinerary

Picked up by team Cycling Hanoi at your hotel in Hanoi, then brought to Van Dien. It takes about 30-45 minutes to get you out of Hanoi busy roads.

Arrival in Van Dien, disembark the bikes. Start riding along a small river, leading through Dai Ang and Nhi Khe. The first stop will be made in Du Du village. Discover the village pagoda and its communal house. Then keep cycling for about 7K to Dau pagoda, located in Gia Phuc village. This island pagoda is quiet and peaceful, thanks to the surrounding water. The three-step, two-floor gate of the pagoda, including an old-age bell-tower, presents itself like a water-color painting. In front of and behind the gate are two large yards. Beside old statues, the most striking and special ones are the statues from the real flesh and bones of the pagoda’s monks Vu Khac Minh and Vu Khac Truong.

Continue your bike ride for about more 10K to Quat Dong village. Quat Dong is well known throughout the northern region as a traditional hand embroidery village. The reputation has remained strong throughout several generations since the 17th century. The hand-made products in the village have been exported to many countries around the world.

Make another stop in a embroidery workshop to see their daily work. There is opportunity to learn more about the profession, local customs and traditions.

Keep cycling for about more 5K before being picked up again by your vehicle and taken to a local restaurant for lunch. Then transfer back to your hotel at about 15.30 – 16.00. Hanoi Cycling Trip Dau Pagoda Quat Dong Village 1 Day is completed.
